Default Hermits / Shrimp Tank!

Alright, I have found it ridiculously hard to find a mantis shrimp so I am going to turn my bio cube 14 into a shrimp / crab /starfish tank!!! Any ideas on what to add and whether or not I will need a skimmer? There is only going to be arnd 12 things I am going to put in it.

I don't think he's getting the mantis.... he's going with hermits and cleaners I think...

well that's what I get from "ridiculously hard to find a mantis shrimp"

yes that is the case. Mantis shrimp is no more in my thoughts T_T. Anyhow I wanted to see any suggestions on rare or nice looking crabs and shrimp, not necessarily cleaner shrimp, could be a lobster too that could coexist. Also, I would like to know if I would need a skimmer?

I'm gonna go with no on the skimmer.

shrimps/crabs' waste is ammonia based and will just go back into the cycle.

you might get hair algae... but again, the stuff you will be keeping will eat it so it's just one big cycle.

if you don't want the hair algae then you can probably grow macro's in the tank, which are nice looking and some are different colours.

personally... I really want a staghorn hermit cause they look different, haven't looked up how to care for them though, but can't be too much different from other hermits.

sexy shrimp are also nice.

you can check out here, they have a pretty good selection of shrimp and crabs

oh so today I went to sea u marine... they have a mantis if you're still interested. It's about 2.5 inches or so... didn't really get that good of look at it, but it was mostly green with some red. I think it' was a peacock... I don't know. :/
