Hey Andrew,

The meeting tonight was fun. I was the new dude with the UofT hoodie.

Going next month schedule permitting. The auction was great.

Alright, nobody seems to take pictures though.

I got free fish food (freeze dried tubifex, white shrimp), and got high-end pellet food for $5.

Ah so that was you! I was the guy sitting in the back with the ponytail and glasses. Glad you could make it to the meeting!

I'll bring my Camera next meeting, memory permitting (my memory, not the card in the camera )

I was there - sorry, I tend to be a bit of a lurker and I should have introduced myself more. I was the other new guy - short hair and glasses. Glad to have met you.

Also something about a merged auction with another club. It wasn't very specific.

There were 2 bags of 3 siamese fighting fish, 1 black molly, and some sort of cichlid on auction.

I'm into planted tanks so I might have some to give for the auction next month.

It was a small auction it's true. Auction sizes generally represent the number of members in a club.

I think that contemporary aquarium clubs are struggling for membership. From my own personal observations, it would appear that the average age of these clubs is fairly high and it doesn't seem that there are that many younger people joining up. I've worked in pet stores so I know that there are tons of younger people who are really into fish, so it begs the question: where the heck are they?

Probably sitting in front of their computers. Like me right now.

However, there's something to be said for meeting face to face with other hobbyists. I'd recommend it. It's why I've joined the Peel Regional Aquarium Club and I'll join Willowdale too.
