Acutally, that sounds about right... well, maybe I shouldn't go to the DRAS auction as it will result in me becoming homeless.

So it's a week from today the Durham auction and I would go if I thought it would be worthwhile. What is everyone bringing to sell maybe you can convince me to drive the 1.5 hours to the big bad GTA

Typically, there are at least 1,000 items in the auction (no used dry goods). Lots of fish, lots of plants, food, and new equipment. Tables of used goods. This is a big auction, but, there is no way of guaranteeing any particular fish or plant will be there. However, the buck a bag as opposed to percentage of sale, makes bring quality items more attractive.
I will be taking many Chain swords, E latifolius. It is always worthwhile, even if you buy nothing.

Normally, there is still a lot left a 4.00 pm, and the prices start dropping.

Apparently the $1 a bag charge is a big incentive for breeders and others to sell their fish at this auction, hence the huge numbers. I've not been to this auction but have heard from others this is likley the one where you'll see the best selection and some uncommon fish, as on a $50 dollar fish it worthwile to sell here at a buck vs 20-30% fee at other auctions.(for clarity it's a buck a bag plus $3 for each lot of 20 bags)

Not sure I'll be there, but sure sounds like fun

This auction usually finish at 5pm to 5:30pm and yeah the price usually are better at this time since half of the people are gone and the people who are still there either got too much fishy or no more money for more fishy

Why are all the good fish left to the last 3 tables?

Or is that just the impression I get?

I am usually the one that has run out of money and has too many fish. Plus after 4 hours in one of those plastic chairs I can't wait to leave.

the best stuff is usually at the beginning as everyone tries to get there best stuff on table one. However, after the first table is done the rest are done in a random draw order. This is done to make the auction fairer for everyone. So, it is possible that what you want will end up on one of the last 3 tables. Lucky for you if that is the case.
If you get tired of sitting, feel free to pitch in as a runner. Help is always appreciated.
