![]() I don't know about all mantises, but it's definitely legal to sell some of them because I've seen them sold for pest control purposes at garden centres in the past.
Here's a list of exotic pets banned in Toronto -- no insects are on the list. Here's a government list of pest species that it's illegal to keep -- no mantises are on the list.
