Default Rare leathers

I have 2 rare leathers to offer,
One is full colony Japanese nephtia, will sell colony or frags.
Other is Australian leather, never seen in the trade, I've also never offered a frag of it, been in my collection 7 years, frags are 4 to 5", almost full colonies.

Just wanted to bump this for Flavio. I was over at his place to grab the Aussie leather yesterday. The leather has an odd growth pattern that seems to show it developing what can only be described as a root or foot/penduncle (kinda reminds me of a sea pen). This fact alone tells me this is a very unique and interesting coral. Softie aficionados should jump on this ASAP.

I've been waiting a while for Flav to frag it and I couldn't be happier to finally have it in my tank.

And that Japanese softie is the real deal. It's a Lemnalia, not nepthea though

Here is what my Japanese Lemnalia looks like - mine came as a frag from Flavio

How can you tell that it's lemnalia?

I purchased an identical looking leather from Crisis who claimed it to be nepthia but due to it's retractile polyps I concluded it was likely sinularia.

My understanding is you'd have to disolve the tissue from the skeleton and compare the sclerites under magnification for a positive id.

Jay (from RR - Reef Raft) is the ultimate source for this Japanese leather. Flavio got his colony from Jay a while ago and from there, myself and the rest of the GTA got their frags. Jay mentioned to me it's a lemnalia when I spoke to him a couple months back.

I'm no pro wrt lemnalia sp. but I am very familiar with nepthea sp. and sinularia sp. And well, all I can say, this coral is neither. Its polyp structure is different from either, but most closely resembles capnella sp. and why I originally thought it was capnella sp.

Re: the true green neptheas being sold often on this site is also known as the Palau Green Tree Coral.....please cross-check with "Crisis" that you didn't purchase the Palau Nepthea instead of what should be the Japanese Lemnalia

I can write a lot more on this coz i'm a taxonomy nerd, but i'll shut up and leave this thread alone ...PM me if you to chat more.
