Very ingenious! Now that's what I need for my tankroom in the basement! Pretty smart! You give me ideas!

Where do you get the controllers?

Hi Scott, the valves and timer can be purchased at Home Depot.

Here is the link http://www.homedepot.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchView?D=orbit&Ntt=orbit&langId=-15&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&storeId=10051&Ntx=mode+ matchallpartial&catalogId=10051&Nty=1&s=true&N=172 281+4294933403[/URL]

Timer is $44 and valves are 24.99

Unhappy Update

The valves do not operate efficiently enough with gravity feed so I have contacted the company about modifications to the valve to increase the flow. Will keep you posted.

So I found out that the sprinkler valves won't work unless the water flow is under pressure. What I need is called a direct solonoid valve which will work with gravity.

Default RO/DI Installed

Hi folks here is the RO/DI unit installed, it is connected to a dual TDS meter that tells me the total disolved solids of the water going into the R/O ( 350 ppm ), and coming out ( 0 ppm ) after the water has been filtered. The line is connected to a 55 gal drum with a float valve to turn it off when the water storage drum is full. Got a great deal on the 5 stage RO/DI from "Max Water" for $157

Hi Peter,
100 GPD, that's a decent size. What is an approximate make-up quantity you are looking at ? Also what kind of reject ratio does the unit give and what are you using it for ? (I understand the quality is good for African Chiclids :-P :-)

cheers,
Sandeep

Hi Sandeep, the water here in Georgetown is liquid rock with a ph of 8.7. I find if I mix 75% RO with 25% tap water it settles in at around ph 7.2. I do a daily water change of 10% and vacum the tanks once a week. Not sure but I believe the reject ratio is 1 litre of pure water to 3
