Default New Batch

ok..thought I will add some baby news back into the Discus Forum..kind of going slow. Maybe everyone is just busy with summer coming early..

me got busy with work...a little bit depressed as I lost a lot of fish...a whole batch of fry, my leopards (not sure why, happened when I was travelling), 3 of the 4 blue diamonds that Peter got, 4 blue rams (got ich, discus and ram in the same tank, only 1 survivor).

Managed to get the Reds out in the right time, the female got cloud eye - healed well. back to their breeding cycle.

This pic is from 26th May. Parents ate the fry. Laid eggs again sometime last week (1st June ??), fry are doing well, attached, not a big number but thats ok. I will post some current photos later

Default Fry pics

Just some today's snap...tried to add some BBS but no luck, generally from the last couple of batches, I feel they need to be a week free swimming to start eating the BBS.

Default snap - 14th June

doing well..changed water..not happy with the pic, will use the flash next time. Anyone has experience with MACRO photos, is it worth investing in a MACRO lens

Very nice parents. Best of luck! It is really exciting that breeding started again.

Oh man, what an amazing shot....can I ask what lens you are using ? I have a T3i...trying to decide between a macro lens (60mm) vs external flash 430EXII

Default 16th June snaps

some more snaps, the bigger fry have started biting at the BBS. Hopefully by next week they will be all going for it giving the parents some well deserved rest
