Hi, the Peel Region Aquarium Club Annual Auction (aka Brampton fish club)auction will be on Sunday November 14th, 2010
Our auction will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall,
1133 Queen Street East, Brampton, Ontario.
Buyers and sellers are welcomed.
Visit our web site for details and directions.
Note this will be our only auction this year.
Also the club continues to welcome new members. We meet on the third Thursday of each month. Come visit our web site and forum
The club has been having the annual auctions for a long, long time.
As a result the auctions are usually well organized, well attended and with a lot of tables.
Hi, yep that was one of the reasons for the posting, We were booked for the earlier date and then were bumped by the legion to Nov 14th date, but not of all the links have the new Nov 14date .
You will find a large variety of fish that you will typically not see in the pet shops. Most of the fish are what people have bred at home and sometimes there are fish that you only read about in the books and never see in the shops.
Predominently the majority will be African Cichlids since that seems to be the trend in Toronto and area and most people are breeding these.
there will be Killifish, Tetras, bettas, common livebearers and many times a variety of wild livebearers, catfish, pleco, corydoras, discus, angelfish. The Peel Club is also one of the few clubs left that you can purchase used equipment in the auction at very good prices, well worth a visit if you need more tanks. There will also be new items, donations, books etc.
If anyone in the north Burlington/Oakville area needs a ride, send me a PM and I'll see what I can do. I'll be heading down for the opening bell, but will likely have to leave by 2:00 or so.
Made it, stayed till about 12:45, they were down to the last 3 tables at that time. Lots of BN plecos, corys, angels, java moss and A barteri plants. Surprisingly few africans, other plecos (there were a coupe of starlight) or south/central americans (there were some blue rams). Prices were pretty decent, with the exception of some plants and some albino plecs. Was also surprised that there wasn't more used goods up for auction as this is the only one that allows it.
Picked up some gugeons from Dave (before the auction) and won some shrimp, rams, calico plecos and marble angels. Overall a great way to spend half a day and meet a few folks from the board.
I think I got some of Bettaforu's Guppies. They look very happy in my 50g.
There were LOT's of Angelfish. They were going for under 5 bucks a pair.
Somebody picked up a Rena XP 3 for $60 some odd bucks. That was a good deal considering they are four times that new.
Pretty good show...
Lee
