Default Japanese Koi with sores

This is the second japanese Koi i have had that developed an ulcer. The last koi i had sadly died from it and I made the mistake of buying this all natural holistic herbal additive from Humber Nurseries. Biggest waste of money ever. If anything it made the ulcers worse. I have a Kikokuryu quarantined in a fish tank and I have been treating it with API Melafix in accordance with the instructions. Its been almost two weeks and I want to say that the sore is getting better as i can faintly see tissue growing over the redness but in all honesty i would have hoped for a better result.

I change the water every three days and I feed the fish a few pellets of food so it doesn't put the ammonia levels through the roof. Instructions say one cap full per 10 gallons for seven days.

Any other methods people can suggest, Iam all ears.

cheers.

I use original polysporin or the life brand Vaseline type triple antibiotic on many fish and it works very well, put it on night and morning and it will clear up in a few days
