Is my donut coral spilling its guts? I don't know what's happened. It's been fine the whole time I've had it. and I've had it for a long time now.. since Ryan's birthday. This was Taipan's purple donut.

It was fine the whole night, and then I came over to turn off the lights and I see stuff coming out of it...

really? that much? that's a lot of purple poop! the donut seems fine this morning, but is much smaller... It is away from the nem who was moving to avoid flow.

I know sometimes is weird and a lot. Some of my corals spit poop like that, liquid goo. Some others, i noticed, their poo is more solid, like brown filaments, little mounds of brown stuff.

Do you think may be some got Diarrhea??? omg lol. Just kidding!!

speaking of poo, the best coral poo I've seen is from my nem! well the sand nem. It spits out small round black grains! one by one! One morning I saw that and I was like whatttttt... they are the same size as the small marine pellets. cleanest poo I've seen ANYWHERE LOL

OR it's excreting zooxanthellae.

In most cases, both are normal, though excreting zooxanthellae can indicate stress sometimes.
