Finally joined a forum LOL. My name is Phil I have been involved in the hobby for almost 30 years on many levels from wholesale and retail to fish keeping and have had lots of time to make all the usual mistakes (some I won't mention
) but also learned some great tips. I have had the opportunity to meet some of the worlds greatest aquarist some legends and some just average everyday people like ourselves. I have traveled extensively to many parts of the world as a wholesaler and have made a lot of friends that are fellow aquarist and have learned a great deal about this great hobby. Some of the greatest tips I have learned was from meeting local first time aquarist in there early teens surprisingly enough at local club meetings or local retailers. I suppose these young aquarist were on tight budgets but the ideas were simple and ingenious. I am prodominantly a marine freak but have changed my ways after seeing some amazing planted tanks at a couple of local retailers. I retired from the hobby 2 years ago but I keep getting sucked back in LOL. I love reading about members different builds and decided to start a few threads on some builds I am planning with lots of DIY and cost saving tips for all that are interested and also dispell some of the myths that this hobby has spawned over the years. Looking forward to chatting and hopefully meeting some of you fellow aquarist and most of all learning some new tips
. Remember knowledge is king you never stop learning and google is not always your friend. Stay tuned.
