I'm losing my fish to malawi bloat despite medicating. If I do lose my fish how many ppm of ammonia do I dose to keep my biofilter alive? I know it's about 4ppm when you're cycling but that once you're cycled you drop the level down but what do you drop it to? 1ppm? 2?

Thanks in advance :)

Woah, that sucks about the bloat.

From what I have read it recommneds that you cycle with 4ppm in order to simulate a very high bioload of fish. So, if you currently have a very high bioload of fish then I think it would be logical to add enough ammonia for it to test 4ppm. Otherwise I would think 2ppm would be fine.
