I recently acquired a Phosban 150 which I cleaned out completely and put away as I knew I would eventually need this for a S.W setup. After seeing this thing in action many times at my brother-in-laws house it got me thinking if it could be used on a F.W setup.

Here is my idea and please tell me whether you believe this is something that would work or not.

- Fill Phosban 150 with bioballs and attach to F.W setup as an alternative to running a HOB filter ? I'm just not sure whether or not this reactor would create any flow in the tank or not or how it'd work. It's just an idea...any thoughts would help.

You could put various media in it to make a custom filter, but what I'd do is turn it into a slick but diy CO2 reactor.
