I noticed the roots on these ones seem to grow in a different manner than one other variety I have had. the roots here tend to be like yours - very fat straight. whereas the other variety has a lot of very fine roots.I just moved my 20 pods from the sump to the dt overflows a month ago. Not growing as fast now because they're just getting indirect light from the Razors. But most are working on their second set of leaves.
