i was hoping to buy it used. I've seen members on GTAA sell i for about $60. Brand new is too expensive... i might as well purchase a while new kit for the price of a PC4 alone.

The whole unit is $279 since you need the sl1 and pc4. That's why the one that was on sale on the weekend was such a good deal. You can't just hook up another pc4 without the sl1

Actually, you don't need he SL1 module to connect another PC4 to your original setup. I just checked the manual and verified it with Digital Aquatic customer support just to be sure

Interesting...I was always under the impression that you needed it. This is what the SL-1 was for.

From my understanding is that the SL-1 is used as a module to connect several different probes and other monitoring device.
