I regularly have Nymphaea water lilies (lotus) for sale. $10 for plants the size of the one in the pic with big bulbs, $5 for small ones. $5 for big clumps of water sprite.
The water lilies get HUGE if you don't trim them. If you let them form lily pads, within a year, they can bloom with purple flowers.
If you trim them regularly, they produce beautiful light green leaves specked with burgundy.
My tank is disease-free but does have snails.
