I need suggestions... I tore down my planted 37G tall to give the new eel a bigger home. There won't be any corals it's a FOWLR only (although I love The eel I am a little squeamish of snakes so don't wish to put my hands into the tank to place coral) but what else should I add? Two big clowns? A dwarf lionfish? Can I have a snail or two in this tank? It's looking a little boring at the moment...

LOL an eel is not a snake!

Maybe anything that won't fit in his mouth? Usually a rule of thumb for predators (except mantis shrimp :D ) Though I have no experience with morays. Damsels would probably be a safe bet; they can take care of themselves. Tomato or maroon clown might be another option, as they are a bit more tough and aggressive than ocellaris/percs, etc. People have had success housing them with firefish and gobies too. Shrimp usually don't fare too well.

Maybe search around on RC and you may find input from people with personal experience.

It will eat anything it can get its mouth around so any fish, shrimp, or crabs that are slow will be dinner. Also I know a couple people who lost theirs due to the eel crawling out of the top

Good luck!
Been there, done that. The eel slithered out of the QT tank out of the one sole opening at the back of the tank by the filter on the very first night. He looked like he was a goner but I rinsed him off and put him back into the tank where he woke up. I've got the sucker on "lock down" now. :)

That's what I told myself before he escaped the tank! Seems to me he's a "wanna-be snake"!
